Steve has worked in the Education and Health sectors for the last twenty five years. After graduating from the University of Malta he focused on Education Law but was also part of a team overseeing the Implementation of New Curriculum for all Schools. He also assisted in the drafting of the 2006 Education Act. Later on Steve was contracted by the Health authorities to assist in the amendment and re-drafting of Maltese Health Law and the formulation of a Patients’ Charter which today became part of our legislation.
Besides being invited by the Faculty of Education to deliver lectures on Education Law for Masters students at the University of Malta, Steve also lectures on various legal topics with other private educational institutions.
In 2003 Steve was part of a team that was appointed in conjunction between the Maltese authorities and the European Commission to deliver the translation into the Maltese language of the Acquis Communautaire.
Steve was called to the Bar in 2000 and is a member of the Chamber of Advocates. He practices law with the firm Laferla & Laferla Notaries.
