Alfred has been involved in educational leadership since 1987.
He served as Head of School at St Michael Foundation between 2010 and 2022. He previously served there as Assistant Head (2001 to 2010). Between 1987 and 2001, he was Senior School Coordinator and then Assistant Head at Stella Maris College. He started teaching Accounting and business-related subjects in 1985. He is currently a School Consultant at St Michael Foundation.
In 1997, Alfred obtained his Master of Arts in Education Studies at Loughborough University, specialising in education leadership. He also holds a degree in Religious Studies from the University of Malta. He has followed a number of courses in accounting, pedagogy, school leadership and spirituality both in Malta and abroad.
Since 2007, Alfred has been and is still serving on a number of working groups and committees which have been set up to address, support and evaluate national policies, strategies and developments in education in Malta.
Alfred is a visiting lecturer in the courses for Masters in Education Leadership, Masters in Catholic School Leadership and the Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership within the University of Malta. He also has experience in teacher training and support.
Alfred is co-author of a textbook, Go for Accounting which used in a number of secondary schools. Go for Accounting is currently in its fourth edition.
