Michael Fenech graduated with a B.Ed (Hons) from the University of Malta. In 1991 he obtained a Masters in Education with a thesis entitled “Education for Participatory Democracy – A Rationale for Active Citizenship”. He is a registered member of the British Psychological Society, and a Fellow of the Salzburg Seminar. He is accredited with a number of International training institutions including Team Management systems International and MTa International.
He served as a teacher with the Education Department, General Manager of the Manoel Theatre (Malta’s national theatre), Head of School of San Anton School, Training and Development Manager with Price Club Operators, General Manager of Kidsports (an American education and leisure franchise), and Executive Director of AZAD, a Centre for Political Studies. He now runs his own Management Training and Events company called Ideas Alive Ltd. Fenech has served as a member of the Board of Directors of P.B.S. Ltd, the national Television broadcaster, and has been Chairman of the Foundation for Creativity, which is responsible for the running of St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity between 2003 and 2013.
In the field of theatre, Fenech is best known for presenting socially and politically committed drama. He has been producing and directing Bla Kondixin, an annual Festival of Satire, since 2001.
