Fr. Alan Scerri is a member of the Augustinian Order since 1976. He occupied the post of Rector (Headmaster) of St. Augustine College from the year 2000 to 2014. Fourteen years in all.
He commenced his Philosophical studies at the Institute for Religious Studies (I.N.S.E.R.M.) in 1978. Later he pursued his theological studies in Rome at the Patristic Institute from where he graduated in Sacred Theology. In 1987 Fr. Alan enrolled at the Pontifical Salesian University where he read for a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Science and a Master’s degree in the field of Pedagogy and Social Communication.
Fr Alan is a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Education on the course for Masters and Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership. He lectured PGCE and B.Ed. students in Teaching within Catholic schools. Fr. Scerri is a Ph.D. graduate of Lincoln University U.K. in School Leadership and Management focusing on culture within Catholic Schools. He has been on the Private Schools Association Board for a number of years occupying the post of treasurer.
He participates in various conferences and a number of his works on School Ethos, School Culture, School Leadership and Catholic Schools have been published.
