This study programme introduces participants to basic notions of the Maltese legal system, studying its early developments in a historical context and its development in an environment always at odds with the civil law and common law traditions.
Whilst participants will be introduced to basic generic notions of law and the rationale behind it as the basic governing system of any modern nation, the local legal system will be analysed in light of several past and present influencing factors, including European Union law, which has transformed the face of various facets of local legislation.
